Rose Charities Projects in Africa
Rose Charities Canada supports several education projects in Africa Each of these projects is supported and administered by its own group of Rose Charities volunteers in Canada. Many have their own dedicated websites and blogs.
Rose Madagascar
Rose Madagascar is dedicated to helping children and communities in Madagascar. We work with a variety of Malagasy-run projects that reach out to abandoned, orphaned and under-privileged children.
What we do
- Mahatsara Rural Education In 2006 we began working closely with a rural community development initiative, Mahastara, in the village of Tsarahonenana. We teamed up to open a school in their small village. The school is unique in its mission to provide an education that goes beyond academics to include a student and community health program, a daily nutrition program which will soon be accompanied by a community garden, an adult literacy program and a student/community sports program.
- Akany Avoko Children’s Home was started as a refuge for young girls awaiting trial and now shelters 160 children and young adults.
- Tangaina Orphanage is a small orphanage for 35 abused or abandoned children.
- Fihariantsoa PreSchool provides 45 preschool places for under-privileged children

Stand Tall Education Network- Uganda
We have completed the construction of a no-fee primary school in Kampala, Uganda to educate poor and orphaned children who cannot afford the expense associated with government-sponsored schools, and we continue to fund the ongoing operational expenses and programs that sustain it. The school is located on a one acre property in a low income area of Kampala.

Our projects assist Zambians as they work toward making a better life for themselves and their families in a drought-stricken part of the country.
